The Rhythm of Nature

"In nature, nothing is perfect and everything is perfect."
-Alice Walker

This weekend has flown by. Some exciting news: There is a possibility that I might get to study abroad next summer, if we can afford it!! I really want to study literature and (of course) photography, and maybe some language in a foreign place! I would absolutely, utterly, indubitably love it. I am so excited to start looking at programs and possible scholarships. Keep your fingers crossed for me! Please!

Since I've been posting some portraits, I decided to switch to some subjects I've captured in nature. In searching for pictures related to nature, I have concluded that I have way too many! So these are just a handful out of the bunch.

I feel a little bit more comfortable taking pictures of nature rather than people, simply because nature isn't afraid of the camera and it'll hold still for me! Ha :) But now that I've had a lot more experience with taking pictures of people, I have to say I love to capture both nature and people. People show so much raw, beautiful emotion - and most of the time, they're not even aware that it's written all over their face! However, nature can be quite loud with emotion as well. It's a pretty cool thing to witness.

So anyway, I'm going to stop rambling now and start my literature paper on the similarities between the Israelites of "New Jerusalem" and the Puritans of the "New World." Hooray for the Old Testament! ;D

Vision in White

Hello Hello!

Not too much going on... thank goodness! Had a crazy week at work with the children (I'm a kids counselor - and loving it) , and now trying to get all of my online class work done. Seeing the doctor Monday morning, not feeling too well. To be honest, I really just want some jamba juice!! Ha :)

I decided to post a new blog today because all these exciting, new engagements on facebook are reminding me of being the photographer for Erika Coleman's (now Erika Stroud) wedding, and all the fun I had doing to job! So here are a few samples of the two bridal portrait sessions I did for her. Mrs. Stroud is beautiful, to be modest. :)

Contact me if you'd like some/any kind of portraits done!! I would love to be the one behind the lens for you. Ya'll have a fantastic day.

Don't Wait For the Sky to Clear

Hey there!

I decided to get a blog, in hopes of sharing some of my pictures! I just finished writing an 8 page research paper for my online literature class... it's not due until next Friday. Shh! Don't tell! I'm an over-acheiver! Ha :) - Nah, I just wanted to get it out of the way. So here I am, trying out a blog before I get to dreaming and sleeping and all that jazz. Getting up in the morning to work out and go to yoga class! I always really despise yoga while I'm in the class, but afterwards, I feel amazing! Maybe I'll learn to like it...

Anyway. Photography is my second passion (taking care of people being my first) and if I weren't going to be a nurse, I would have been an artsy photography major. :) I love to capture God's beauty in every possible way, and I love to witness it all from behind my lense. I am most happiest when I can capture moments and scenes naturally - exactly as they are. No excessive posing or crazy photoshop attached.

I have just decided that today's post is Portrait Day! Below are some portraits of beautiful people I've gotten the opportunity to capture in the past. Enjoy!
